Accounts Payable Specialist (12 months FTC)
This position is full time, fixed-term for 12 months and hybrid working in Glasgow, Scotland.
The team
PMA (Property Management Accounts) is the growing property & fund accounting team, based in Glasgow. PMA support the Surveying Teams & Facilities Managers in the UK by administering approximately £3 Billion p/a of rents and service charge.
Role purpose
Performs clerical accounting procedures requiring familiarity with, and experience in, accounting office practices as well as knowledge of a variety of accounting classifications. Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers. Maintains vendor/customer accounts and performs the invoice / billing process. Ensuring that all KPI's and SLA's are achieved or exceeded as well as maintaining excellent client and supplier service.
Duties and responsibilities
* Verifies the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
* Processes transactions such as disbursements, expense vouchers, cash receipts, etc.
* Enters data into financial system.
* Prepares reports to validate transactions.
* Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
* Investigates questionable or irreconcilable differences and reports these issues to the appropriate individual.
* May participate in various accounting projects as needed.
* Other duties may be assigned.
Person Specification/Requirements
* Relevant experience working within an Account Payable function
* Good understanding of Account Payable procedures and techniques
* Property knowledge would be advantageous
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels of seniority
* Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Good IT skills (Word, Excel, MS Outlook). Previous experience of working on multiple systems is preferable.
