Wentworth James Group has engaged with a key client and a leading Automation and systems integrator specialist based in Shropshire. Due to a high demand and winning new business we are seeking 4 Lead Engineers from an Automation & Controls background, preferably someone who has experience with drive systems.
Summary of the Role
Responsible for the delivery of detailed electrical design work packages – on time, within budget, and of the required quality – contributing to the successful delivery of automation and control projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, engage and coach a small team of Electrical Engineers and Hardware Design Engineers.
2. Collaborate with the Business Development and Applications teams to develop robust estimation norms and provide pre-sale technical support.
3. Work with Project Managers to ensure solid delivery plans are in place for all Electrical Engineering and Hardware Design work packages.
4. Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of Electrical Engineering and Hardware Design resources.
5. Develop, maintain and improve Electrical Design processes and procedures and ensure their compliance.
6. Develop and maintain supplier and sub-contractor relationships to ensure the availability of high-quality short-term / temporary resource to support peak demands.
7. Create, maintain and improve internal standards, templates, libraries, methods and best-practices to ensure the highest possible efficiency.
8. Collaborate with Manufacturing management and supervision to ensure processes, standards and methodologies are aligned between the two departments.
9. Recruit, train and develop the best Electrical Engineering and Hardware Design Engineers to fulfil the growing demands of the business.
10. Monitor the teams’ output in line with project requirements, and audit the quality of work being produced to ensure best-in-class and right-first-time.
11. Provide technical direction, embrace innovation, and ensure compliance with customer specifications and legal regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Required
1. Minimum of BEng in Electrical Engineering.
2. Minimum of 7 years in a relevant technical delivery / management role.
3. Subject Matter Expert in electrical control systems.
