The role of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor is to liaise and support the Commercial Team and assist in the commercial management of projects in both the pre and post Contract stages. The post-holder will demonstrate organisational and administrative skills with the ability to work as part of the overall FGL Commercial Team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the compilation of Monthly Applications for Payment, liaising with client commercial teams and adhering to contract deadlines.
2. Liaising with Client’s commercial teams, answering any queries they may have on applications and providing any additional information required.
3. Reviewing payment certificates and identifying where clients have withheld payments.
4. Assist in keeping Cashflow, Application and WIP/Forecast document up to date on a daily/weekly basis.
5. Assist in the weekly reviews of project timesheets – liaising with Logistics Managers & ensuring any additional works are captured and that instructions are in place.
6. Assist in collating cost and revenue information for the production of Monthly CVRs.
7. Assist in the review and approval of weekly supplier/subcontractor’s invoices/applications.
8. Assist in the reviewing and resolving of any scope of work queries with Logistics Managers.
9. Assist Logistics Managers, procurement and client teams with providing quotations for additional works on live projects.
10. Recording, filing, pricing and documenting of additional instructed works.
11. Producing, reviewing and managing project budgets.
12. Liaising with resource team and Operational administrators to supply budget pay rates.
13. Take meeting minutes for the commercial team as and when requested.
14. Ensure receipt & collation of instructions before work is carried out.
