At Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH), we are embarking on a strategic refresh to deliver a high-quality patient experience and new models of health care which have Culture, Leadership, and Inclusion at their core. This role will lead the Organisational Learning agenda, providing thought leadership and learning and development design and delivery experience while working alongside our leaders and managers.
The role holder leads a portfolio of activity aimed at delivering improved organisational learning outcomes for all CUH colleagues. They lead the Organisational Learning Team, which currently comprises seven members.
This role will be based primarily at the department offices on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Main duties of the job
The role holder project manages a portfolio of outsourced development interventions and also has learning business partnering responsibilities, acting as the primary point of contact and interface for triaging learning requests from their client group. Key aspects of the role include:
1. To provide thought leadership and be the domain expert within CUH on Organisational Learning, including responsibility for leadership and management development as a priority.
2. To lead in partnership with ICS, regional and national NHS colleagues, and external academics and practitioners to ensure CUH organisational learning activities are evidence-led.
3. To lead the design and delivery of learning interventions that solve problems, ensuring they stay solved, thereby delivering sustainable organisational performance.
4. To provide performance leadership and management to direct reports and to lead in partnership across the learning Communities of Practice.
5. To be accountable at Workforce SMT for the delivery of organisational learning projects aligned to the Workforce Strategic Commitments, including (but not exclusively):
1. Resourced: Induction and Onboarding Learning interventions
2. Relationships: Inter and intra-personal skills development
3. Ambition: Essentials of Leadership and Management Excellence roll out
4. Inclusion: Learning interventions designed with EDI at the forefront

Qualifications
* Relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent CPD - Learning and Development Design and Delivery; Instructional Design; Facilitation; Coaching; Content Creation
Experience
* Experience of developing, contributing to, and implementing learning strategies at senior levels of a complex organisation.
* Experience and examples of how Organisational Learning interventions have impacted organisational success.
* Strong track record of successfully working across boundaries to contribute to organisational success.
* Experience of managing and developing teams, setting standards for service delivery, managing performance, and supporting professional development and personal wellbeing.
* Significant experience of designing and implementing learning interventions at all levels of NHS/public sector organisations.
Knowledge
* Expert knowledge and experience of organisational learning interventions.
* A strong understanding of the contribution that Organisational Learning can make to the CUH workforce commitments and overall trust strategy.
* Knowledge and understanding of current learning developments within the NHS.
Skills
* Strong influencing and communication skills, recognised as a trusted expert by leaders, employees, and colleagues alike.
* A strong team player with a flexible approach and the ability to network effectively.
* Excellent project management skills, and ability to self-manage and deliver within timescale.
