Assistant Medical Secretary - Ophthalmology
Do you enjoy a challenge and like working in a busy environment? We are looking for a full-time Assistant Medical Secretary (37.5 hours per week) to work with our Ophthalmology Admin team.
This is a very busy department and the post holder must have the ability to work under pressure. Previous experience in Healthcare in Admin is desirable but not essential. The post holder will be expected to have good communication skills and be able to liaise effectively and efficiently with colleagues, professionals, and patients.
Main Duties of the Job

The role will offer the individual a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, dealing with a large multidisciplinary team on a daily basis. The individual will be engaging with different departments and colleagues throughout the hospital, both Clerical and Clinical.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
* GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent
* RSA Stage 2/3 or equivalent Medical Word processing skills
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of people
* Ability to provide cover for consultant secretaries
* Ability to organise, prioritise and manage workload without supervision
* Ability to meet tight time schedules and deadlines
* Previous experience dealing with the public
* Previous secretarial experience or equivalent
* Working under pressure
