Join Us as a Radiation Protection Adviser!
Your Role
Help ensure compliance with radiological protection standards, policies, and site requirements.
What You'll Do
Develop and support a Radiation Protection Strategy tailored to our activities.
Analyze regulatory requirements (IRR17 & REPPIR) and support site compliance.
️ Offer radiological safety advice to achieve ALARP compliance.
Analyze data and provide actionable recommendations.
Prepare clear guidance for radiological practices.
⚠️ Conduct radiation risk assessments and implement controls.
️ Advise on instruments and their suitability for surveillance and waste sentencing.
️ Support design and installation of new radiation processes.
️ Assist waste management with radiological expertise.
Investigate incidents, capture lessons, and recommend actions.
Draft and review radiological documents like site instructions and ALARP assessments.
Support business growth by assessing and communicating radiological risks.
Qualifications
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
️ Valid Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Certificate or nearing completion.
In-depth knowledge of UK ionizing radiation regulations (IRR17, REPPIR).
️ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
Strong understanding of ALARP principles.
Bonus Points
✅ Experience as a Radioactive Waste Adviser, Process Owner, or Subject Matter Expert.
✅ Knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence conditions and radioactive waste management.
✅ Expertise in radiation protection instrumentation and transport arrangements.
✅ Membership in the Society of Radiological Protection (MSRP or above).
