Technical Author (Nuclear) – 6-Month Contract – Onsite – Reading – SC Cleared
VIQU have partnered with a leading organisation within the nuclear sector, seeking a Technical Author with electrical engineering expertise to support critical projects on a contract basis.
The Role:
The successful Technical Author will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for electrical engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. You will work closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure documentation meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience as a Technical Author (Nuclear) within the electrical engineering sector.
2. Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and terminology.
3. Experience developing user guides, manuals, and technical documentation for engineering projects.
4. Ability to collaborate with engineers and technical teams to gather and interpret information.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and CAD tools for documentation.
6. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
7. Ability to create diagrams, charts, and visual aids to support technical content.
8. Experience ensuring Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) are maintained and updated.
9. Must be eligible for SC Clearance, or preferably hold valid SC Clearance.
10. Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or similar professional certification.
11. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and technical communication tools.
