Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on a global procurement? We are seeking an experienced and motivated a Head of Indirect Category – Marketing and Professional Services. The role reports to the Director of Indirect Procurement and is part of a global team that manages a total spend in excess of $450M. If you’re passionate about optimizing procurement processes and are excited to grow within a forward-thinking organization, we’d love to hear from you What you’ll do at Elekta Your role will include (but not limited to): Establish excellent relationships with key stakeholders, particularly across marketing, the People function, and engineering. Develop a deep understanding of the business needs as a key foundation for your category strategy. Utilise the Coupa source to pay system to ensure that controls are adhered to, and to fully understand the spend and supplier history in order to identify opportunities for improvement. Drive annual value improvements in each spend category. Develop, champion, and ensure implementation of strategies that will deliver quantifiable business benefits to meet and exceed annual targets. Work with the business to review key supplier arrangements and contracts, and to run sourcing events for both new and existing requirements. Ensure that risk management and sustainability factors are fully considered in all decisions relating to the managed categories. Remain current with market trends through relationships with vendors and market experts; identifying and communicating new technologies and solutions to key problems in the assigned spend areas Establish full category strategies and action plans, and ensure they are updated no less than annually. Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance. Work closely with peers across different regions and different categories. Drive improvements in process, champion collaboration, and ensure that the indirect procurement team continues to be seen as a successful and enjoyable team to work in. The right stuff Outstanding stakeholder management skills. Excellent planning/project management skills – able to develop comprehensive workable issue sets in complex situations Effective problem-solving and analytical skills – able to construct/execute multiple complex analyses. Strong negotiating skills Ability to gain a fact-based understanding of current supplier base, supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets Distinctive leadership – willing to make tough/unpopular decisions, but well respected by internal and external business leaders. Comfortable with conflict – willingness to challenge “conventional” thinking Self-starter and independent worker – able to juggle priorities What you bring Degree required with MBA preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) certification desirable Previous experience of procuring services at a senior level is essential. For the selected global categories, deep global industry knowledge, and understanding and experience of implementing best practice procurement. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of developing and deploying sourcing strategies, financial concepts and the ability to create business cases Successful, track record in a procurement organization Exceptional experience in contract management and extensive awareness and understanding of contractual law Well-developed IT skills and fluent in English, preferably with a second language Passion for reducing costs – exhibits high energy and the enthusiasm to establish a new approach of sourcing What you’ll get: In this role, you will work for a higher purpose; hope for everyone dealing with cancer, and for everyone regardless of where in the world, to have access to the best cancer care.
