Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK We are recruiting for a Track Maintenance Fitter to join our Engineering team. You will play a key role supporting the delivery of the tram bogie maintenance in line with the maintenance plan, so they are safe, reliable and fit for purpose. You will be hands on fixing and problem solving to complete first-line maintenance tasks, respond to bogie asset failures and identify and report issues or defects during maintenance activities to meet the Tram Maintenance Instructions and contractual requirements. As a team we provide a first-class maintenance service to keep our trams across Greater Manchester moving. So, If you have a mechanical background and would love to join the team within Manchester’s iconic Metrolink, what are you waiting for, we can’t wait to hear from you Key accountabilities will include: Execute bogie maintenance and first-line tasks in accordance with maintenance instructions and schedules Provide technical support to Tram Maintenance Technicians during asset failures Identify and report issues or defects during maintenance activities Safely shunt vehicles around the yard and into the maintenance shed as required, ensuring compliance with operational procedures Accurately record and update asset management information in both paper and digital formats Ensure maintenance documentation is complete and up to date Support asset management reporting by closing out work orders on time Carry out component replacement and system testing as required. Support diagnosis and resolution of complex maintenance problems. Support on root cause investigations Keep abreast of Industry best practice and deliver appropriate improvement initiatives for KAM Champion health, safety and what good looks like embedding “Just Culture” in all ways of working What you’ll bring: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in engineering / mechanical related discipline Experience in a large-scale maintenance environment, with a strong emphasis on safety to maintenance schedules Experience in operational transport and maintenance environment, ideally within the rail industry In-depth knowledge of maintenance activities within a multi-disciplinary team Experience maintaining and updating asset management records, both paper-based and digital systems Familiar with following detailed Maintenance Task Instructions and adhering to technical documentation Hands-on experience in maintaining at least one or more of the following systems: Electrical/Electronic systems Mechanical systems Hydraulic systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Flexible approach, you can adapt to your situation to get the best results Results focused with a passion for delivering work on time and working as part of an awesome team The closing date for applications: 10 March 2025 Depending on the level of applications for this role we may close the advert earlier, therefore we encourage you to submit your application early.
