About Cedarmount
We are a well-established and busy small animal practice, primarily focused on first-opinion care with a small referral component. Our patients are primarily dogs, cats, and rabbits, with occasional small furries and birds. Our practice features separate dog and cat waiting areas, four consultation rooms, two theatres, a prep room, an imaging room, and separate recovery and cat wards. We are excited about a planned refresh of our kennels and reception area, which will enhance our facilities even further.
Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will spend most of your time in consultations including conducting routine health checks, weight management, diabetes care, and wellness screenings. About a quarter of your time will involve surgeries, including routine procedures like laparoscopic spays and gastropexy. You’ll also handle a variety of soft tissue surgeries, including abdominal procedures, occasional thoracotomies, TECAs, and orthopaedics such as fracture repairs, cruciate lateral sutures, MMP, and luxating patella repairs. Spinal surgeries and advanced imaging cases (CT/MRI) are referred externally.
You will join our dedicated team of seven vets, all experienced clinicians who are always available to collaborate and provide support when needed. Many of our team members hold postgraduate qualifications, including CertAVP in medicine and surgery, and a certificate in veterinary radiology. Additionally, an ophthalmology specialist visits our practice weekly to provide advanced care. While a certificate is not required for this role, we actively encourage and support colleagues who wish to pursue further qualifications.
Our highly skilled nurses run their own clinics, focusing on routine health checks, weight management, diabetes care, and wellness screenings, helping to provide comprehensive care for our patients.
Work-Life Balance
Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, that’s why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.
Working 4 days a week with 1 evening having a 7:30 finish. 1:6 Saturday mornings and no out of hours. We are open to full time or part time 20-35 hours a week.
