The Group’s Transformation Function is responsible for realising these strategic objectives through the design, delivery, and management of the Group Transformation Portfolio. We work cross-functionally with experts from Technology, Product, Finance, and other business areas to deliver best-in-class outcomes.
Role Overview
The Head of Transformation Service Design will report to the Group Director of Transformation and lead a team of approximately 7-10 design specialists. This role is responsible for driving the strategic design of comprehensive, end-to-end transformative experiences for both customers and colleagues. The Head of Transformation Design will manage the initial sizing and estimation of transformation initiatives to inform annual and quarterly planning. This role will also involve extensive collaboration across multiple time zones and geographies to ensure alignment and cohesive change delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Experience Design:
- Lead and collaborate with business functions to design complete transformative experiences that account for impacts on customers, colleagues, and business outcomes.
- Employ service blueprinting methodologies to clearly articulate proposed end-to-end experiences, ensuring seamless alignment with strategic goals.
2. Transformation Sizing and Estimation:
- Oversee the estimation process for transformation initiatives to ensure realistic timeframes, scope, and costs are provided for planning and business case development.
- Support informed decision-making by feeding accurate sizing and estimation into the annual and quarterly planning cycles.
3. Design Principles and Governance:
- Partner with Group Technology and business process owners to define clear design principles that guide all transformation activities.
- Collaborate with Technology and Digital teams to outline an End State Architecture and ensure compliance with these design principles, managing exceptions as needed.
4. Cross-Functional and Global Collaboration:
- Work effectively with multiple business units and across different time zones to align transformation designs with strategic objectives and maintain global consistency.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and partners, to ensure cohesive management of processes, technologies, and resources.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, inspire, and develop a team of 7-10 design specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, high performance, and continuous learning.
- Promote a customer-centric approach to transformation, ensuring the team is equipped to deliver best-in-class design solutions.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in leading transformation design in a complex, multi-brand environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in service design and blueprinting methodologies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of managing teams in global and multi-time zone settings.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, capable of fostering cross-functional collaboration.
