HLTA Post 16
We are recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted graded "Good" provision in Newcastle and require a motivated and capable HLTA to help predominantly with the delivery of functional skills and GCSE to Post 16 pupils. This role would be perfect for a TA ready to make the step up to HLTA or an English Graduate who is looking to develop further skills.
The provision offers various vocational qualifications and most Learners who attend are still looking to gain an English Qualification. Working closely with the Lead Tutors, you will help deliver, plan, and assess English Lessons.
The provision is really well run and friendly. It is based in the west of Newcastle and is easy to reach via car or public transport. This HLTA role will commence in January 2025.
We ask that you have:
1. An appropriate degree level qualification in English or a minimum of 6 months experience in a school setting.
2. A DBS already on the Update Service or be willing to complete a new application URGENTLY.
3. A fantastic attitude with a flair for reaching learners who may struggle or may be excelling.
4. The willingness to learn how to plan, produce, and teach.
5. Patience and great rapport building skills - able to reach reluctant learners.
Full-time availability is required Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
We welcome applications from all candidates who feel that they can add value to an already flourishing department and who can prosper in a highly effective, fast-paced environment.
It is noteworthy that the school will also consider applications from NQTs/ECTs and OTTs (Overseas Trained Teachers with a recognized comparable qualification). Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
