Lead a team of professionals to deliver high-quality development management services, exceeding national and corporate performance targets. This role is responsible for managing the Development Management Service, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership to the planning service, focusing on regeneration and customer satisfaction.
* Develop effective working relationships with Council services, partner organisations, and stakeholders to secure project delivery.
* Apply policy creatively to resolve complex planning issues, influencing others to adopt a particular view.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing development management, enforcement, heritage, and technical support teams, as well as supervising staff and managing budgets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Recognised qualification in Town Planning or equivalent, with exemption from the Final Examination of the RTPI.
* Knowledge of legislation, policies, best practices, and emerging guidance relating to development management.
* Experience in leading and managing teams, including performance management and change delivery.
