Role: Environmental & Compliance Officer
Location: Preston - nationwide travel required
Hours: Mon - Fri 42.75 per week
Salary: Competitive depending on experience + Car Allowance
The Role: We are looking for an experienced Environmental and Compliance Officer to join our established HSEQ team. Reporting to the Environmental & Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we are “industry-leading” in managing and minimizing our impact on the environment, helping to develop a culture of continuous improvement in environmental management.
The Business:
Global Ardour Recycling Limited is a national recycling and waste management business, operating sites nationwide to offer services to recycle scrap metal, scrap cars, and much more. We’re industry leaders, developing ground-breaking Energy from Waste technologies. We’re also one of the country’s largest scrap car recyclers, processing up to 10,000 every month across our sites. Some of your key responsibilities:
* Maintain and update emergency management plans for all sites.
* Manage all operational licenses within the business.
* Collate the quarterly waste return information for submission to the Environment Agency.
* Ensure all waste carrier license information is accurate and up to date on FRED.
* Act as a competent advisor for internal and external queries.
* Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
* Coordinate and monitor emissions compliance.
* Complete quarterly environmental audits and track actions to closure.
* Provide regular site liaison and support on the ground.
The successful candidate:
* Extensive experience working within the recycling and waste management industry.
* Excellent technical knowledge of legislation relevant to the recycling of metal and general waste.
* Full UK driver's license.
