JOB PURPOSE
Luton Town FC Community Trust are seeking to employ four dedicated and passionate Youth Workers to join our team. This role will be for 5 hours per week, working with children and young people aged 8-18 years across our Premier League Kicks venues. As you develop, learn and achieve your Level 2 Youth Work award, there may be opportunities to increase your hours and further develop the role.
You will play a vital role in delivering engaging and supportive informal education activities, creating positive and professional relationships, and encouraging the personal and social development of young people across the Bedfordshire communities. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a dynamic and diverse environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work within the context of Luton Town FC Community Trust’s strategy to promote, develop facilitate and deliver informal learning activities for children and young people aged 8-18 years old that support their personal and social development including prevention of involvement in youth anti-social behaviour and crime.
* Work with the Premier League Kicks Lead and Programmes Manager for Health and Community and other agencies to identify, develop and implement strategies to engage and support families so that the Trust effectively meets the needs of all children, young people and their families.
* Develop and support the implementation of well-structured and progressive informal education activities that facilitate behaviour change. Ensuring a high quality, enjoyable experience centered around the needs of the participants including social action and youth voice projects.
* To work closely with community-based partner agencies to deliver informal education activities that raise awareness and promote their services to Premier League Kicks participants.
* To work closely with parents and families and external agencies such as social care, to ensure the safety and well-being of children to promote safeguarding practices and awareness supporting referrals as necessary
* Engage in Continuous Professional Development to further knowledge, skills and good working practice.
* Maintain comprehensive records, including registers, first aid and health and safety data on agreed activities, where appropriate, and regularly and punctually submit any such data, as required.
* To work in close partnership with local schools and external agencies and to represent & promote Premier League Kicks as required in parents' meetings, staff meetings, conferences, consultations, giving information, guidance and advice.

Education/Qualifications/Training:
Essential
* Experience working with diverse children and young people (ages 8-18), including those with additional needs, to support personal and social development.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging, creative, and educational youth activities.
* Skilled in building positive relationships, acting as a mentor and role model.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection policies, and risk identification.
* Ability to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
* Experience working collaboratively with coaches, volunteers, and external agencies.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records, and uphold best practices.
* Emotional resilience and ability to manage challenging behaviours.
Desirable
* Some experience working with professionals from multiple agencies or disciplines.
* Ability to communicate in languages such as Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi, Polish, or Romanian.
* Understanding and/or experience of cultural and religious issues affecting childcare, lifestyle choices, and education.
* Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles (already completed).
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Willingness to support other Health and Community projects.
Education & Training:
* Minimum of five GCSEs, including English and Mathematics (Grades 9-4 or equivalent).
* Willingness to study for and pass a Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles.
Additional Information:
* Applicants must have a flexible approach to working across seven days.
* Willingness to work outside office hours.
* Ability to travel to sites throughout Bedfordshire (daily).
