Sub AgentThe Role(Water/Utilities) \n\nAs a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for managing small-value civil engineering and construction sites or assisting the Site Agent and Project Manager on larger schemes. Your goal will be to achieve successful project delivery in line with the customer’s objectives while ensuring high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control.\n\nKey Responsibilities:Site Management\nMaintain commercial performance of the contract.\nOversee the successful delivery of projects.\nDevelop and manage the project programme, ensuring its timely delivery.\nInterpret and work from drawings and specifications.\nProvide engineering expertise and support to the project team.\nEnsure all staff, subcontractors, and visitors are properly inducted, meet competency requirements, and hold relevant qualifications and tickets.\nAct as an ambassador for the business, representing our client to customers, the public, and official bodies.\nDeliver projects to the customer’s satisfaction.\nProduce accurate and high-quality monthly reports for both the client and internal use.\nChair weekly site meetings in accordance with company procedures.\nEnsure all "as-built" information is accurately recorded and relevant.Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ)\nComply with company procedures and legal obligations while promoting best practices.\nEstablish and maintain safe working cultures and environmental compliance.\nManage construction sites and subcontractors, fostering positive working relationships.\nKeep all HSEQ-related documentation up to date and ensure necessary briefings are conducted.\nConduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections, ensuring all audits and reports are completed.\nLiaise with third parties and government agencies as required.\nMaintain and manage the QA file.\nEnsure defect-free and on-time project delivery.Cost Control\nManage and maintain the project cost plan.\nMaximise project value while maintaining commercial tension to drive out unnecessary costs.\nEnsure detailed site diaries and records are completed.Managing Resources\nAddress any actual or potential resource issues promptly.\nMaintain complete and accurate records of all resources.Key Measures and Targets\nMeet monthly and weekly reporting deadlines.\nEnsure alignment with Business Unit Objectives.\nMeet 3 Pillar KPI measures.Key Relationships\nCustomers and stakeholders.\nSubcontractors and suppliers.\nSite teams and support departments.Person Specification:The successful candidate is likely to meet the following criteria:\nEssential\nExtensive experience in Civil Engineering.\nWorking knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control (including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting).\nStrong understanding of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering.\nDegree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.\nCSCS card.\nSMSTS card.\nFull driving licence.\nExcellent communication, people, and team management skills, with the ability to motivate others.\nAbility to challenge designs and resolve problems effectively.\nDemonstrates the right behaviours to align with company values.Desirable\nWorking towards CEng, IEng AMICE, or equivalent.\nExperience in the water sector.\nTemporary Works Coordinator qualification.\nLeadership experience.\nService avoidance training.\nConfined space training.\nAppointed Person CPCS card.\nNEBOSH or IOSH certification.Caring and Investing in YouOur client is dedicated to creating a supportive and people-centric working environment.
