Early Years Educator Role Description
KidsStop is looking for a Level 3 qualified Early Years Educator to work within our team at our Nursery in Towcester.
As an Early Years Educator, your responsibilities will consist of planning and supervising child-initiated and adult-led activities based on the needs and interests of the children, and respectfully carrying out care needs such as feeding and changing nappies.
You will support children in developing numeracy and language skills through games and play.
You will have key person responsibility to help ensure each child feels safe and secure, observe each child, and shape their learning experiences based on observations.
It is essential that as an Early Years Educator, you communicate clearly and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers, and other professionals to meet the individual needs of each child.
Additionally, good communication skills and a deep knowledge of child development are required to engage with children and support those needing additional assistance.
Other responsibilities include completing necessary documentation such as registers, risk assessments, planning, daily evaluations, fire drills, cleaning schedules, and food & allergen records.
As a team, you will ensure that resources are set up and packed away clean and organized at the end of each session. You will collaborate with your team to ensure food, cleaning materials, and resources are purchased in advance as needed.
You will report to the Room Leader, KidsStop Deputy Manager, or KidsStop Manager.
Working Times:
8:00 – 18:00 Monday – Friday. 7:30 starts will be shared among team members on a rota basis and paid as overtime.
KidsStop is open 50 weeks of the year and is closed throughout Christmas from the end of the school term until the start of the new term in January.
Flexible/tailored working days may be available upon request.
Holidays:
20 days plus bank holidays. Requests must be made in advance and approved by the KidsStop Manager.
Salary:
Depending on experience and skill set, starting from £28,500 per annum. Pay rises are given annually to support the cost of living and based on good performance during performance reviews at the discretion of the KidsStop Manager.

Trial Period:
The successful candidate will be required to complete a 6-month trial period. Based on satisfactory performance and feedback from KidsStop’s Deputy Manager, a permanent position will be offered.
Two satisfactory references and a DBS are required for candidates to be successful.
Qualifications & Skills:
A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare is required. It is important that you are organized, forward-thinking, driven, hard-working, have good communication skills, and are passionate about childcare. You will be expected to get to know the children in your care and plan appropriate, engaging activities for them. Some documentation is electronic, so a reasonable amount of computer skills, including Word, emails, and WhatsApp, is required.
An ability to clearly converse with families, colleagues, other childcare settings, and services is extremely important. An awareness of how to pass on messages and relay information in a detailed and timely manner is crucial.
The following qualifications are also required: Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Food Allergens, and First Aid.
A driving license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
Training:
KidsStop will always support employees in achieving further qualifications and training. Please discuss this with the KidsStop Deputy Manager or Manager. Staff meetings are held after work hours, and attendance is mandatory. Advance notice will be given, and food and drink are provided.
Your continuous professional development (CPD) will be fully funded by KidsStop throughout your employment, including all essential childcare training, any KidsStop desired training, and any further training of your choosing.
