Funeral Director
£28,762 per annum (£14.75 per hour) plus benefits
Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, with occasional on-call duties covering evenings and weekends. Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S75 1DR.
No experience needed.
We’re looking for an empathetic and commercially minded person to join the Co-op Funeralcare team. You don’t need industry experience. If you have great people skills and a real commercial focus, you could be perfect for this role.

What you’ll do
1. Ensure client needs, service levels, and KPIs are met
2. Act as the main point of contact for clients, supporting and guiding them with the help of the wider team
3. Support funerals by conducting ceremonies, leading the team, and carrying the deceased when necessary
4. Ensure all regulated work, including funeral planning appointments, is referred to a certified colleague
5. Build and maintain relationships with the team, clients, and the community
This role would suit people who have
* A commercial mind-set and experience in a managerial role

* The ability to capture intricate detail and reflect it in the service delivered
* Compassion, understanding, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
* A UK manual driving licence
