The Role We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated and engaging individual to join our Quality Assurance Team as a Build Assurance Engineer (BAE). As a BAE you will be responsible for managing compliance across Health and Safety, quality and environmental aspects of the FTTP build. You will own the build compliance function so previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous. The BAE will be ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of the build to the required standard here at Wessex Internet so strong communication skills are essential. Key responsibilities Undertake Health and Safety, quality, environmental and street works site audits during and post build Review in progress and as built documentation, checking compliance in line with build requirements Responsible and accountable for all build related data and its integrity from the field to the Project team Create and present weekly reports highlighting build/gang compliance and performance across the various workstreams Support the build teams with system integration Ownership of the defect management process from creation to final acceptance of rectified defects Liaison with the Highways Department, Local Authorities and other Utilities companies as required Act as a Quality Assurance representative for the Project Manager and give feedback on current occurring issues. Providing information to the PM for them to be able to monitor, report and escalate issues within projects Championing Quality and Health and Safety, promoting and managing excellence in all SHEQ practices Ownership of the quality standards manual, ensuring relevant updates and distribution of new and relevant information Ensure staff/operatives are regularly monitored and motivated to deliver the highest possible standards Undertake toolbox talks to ensure build standards are understood across the delivery function as required Performing onsite audits to build specification standards Requirements Demonstratable knowledge of telecoms build standards including civils, cabling, splicing and all PIA activities Solid understanding of the New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991 (NRSWA) Strong leadership skills and ability to set good examples and motivate/coach others Valid NRSWA Street Works Supervisor Certification Units 1,10-16 Valid UK Driving licence (Essential) Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new systems Benefits 25 days on annual leave, plus bank holidays The option to buy or sell an additional 5 days holiday Enhanced Family Pay Private Medical Insurance Life Assurance Income Protection Cycle to Work Scheme Tech Scheme Opportunities to progress your career - we’re a young, fast-growing business that is proud of our team of homegrown specialists.
