The role
We have a full-time Microbiologist role available based at our site in Alnwick. This is a pivotal role working in a busy team. As the Microbiologist, you will:
* Develop, validate, and apply microbiological methodologies.
* Apply microbiological methodologies during the quality control and stability evaluation of a range of materials.
* Environmental monitoring of the GMP manufacturing facility and during the manufacture of sterile products.
* Comply & adhere to GxP guidelines and regulations as required of this role.
Main tasks and responsibilities
* As guided/requested, develop, validate, and report microbiological methodology.
* Apply microbiological methodologies during the quality control and stability evaluation of a range of materials.
* Participate in environmental monitoring of the GMP manufacturing facility and during the manufacture of products.
* Prepare work protocols for approval, critically assess data generated and review data from peers.
* Prepare and review reports, quality documents and training documentation.
* Acquire/record data in a manner that complies with GxP and internal policies/procedures.
* Perform assigned roles such as equipment responsible operator, equipment hardware/software validation and the ordering of consumable items.
* Work with due regard to health and safety of self and others.
* Work flexibly across the site to meet business needs.
Qualifications and experience required for competent performance
* BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
* Experience in the application of microbiological methodologies in a pharmaceutical environment is advantageous.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* The ability to critically assess data.
* Have a flexible approach to new work challenges.
