WHAT TO EXPECT
As a Quality Engineer for Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME), you will be at the forefront of ensuring the highest standards of quality across the entire manufacturing process for ICE/EV powertrains. Your role will involve driving quality-focused standardisation across multiple plants, ensuring compliance with scheduled audits, and coordinating responses to quality concerns. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the robustness of the Quality Management System across GME, contributing to the creation of world-class manufacturing systems for JLR’s Powertrain products. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously improve quality processes through digitalisation and innovative data handling methods.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee planning, process design, development, and production support for powertrain production facilities.
* Prepare for internal and external audits to IATF16949, coordinate audit agendas, sweeps, and NC responses.
* Manage quality standards and customer feedback, and maintain a repository of lessons learned and local quality procedures.
* Enhance departmental competencies in Quality Management System processes.
* Maintain standards for document management, DRIM, and shared document libraries.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
* A strong background experience of quality management systems and audit processes in both production and planning environments.
* Knowledge of APQP and PPAP quality processes.
* Expert knowledge of PFMEA.
* Knowledge of machining and assembly processes.
* Knowledge of engines and battery products, including EV vehicles.
