About the Role
The Firmware Engineer role at Aquark Technologies involves being the technical authority on firmware development within a rapidly developing deep tech start-up working closely with a highly capable cross-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead firmware development as the in-house technical authority working closely with the lead electronic engineer.
* Create, implement, and optimize firmware for quantum industry-specific hardware.
* Plan and execute unit testing routines to successfully validate firmware's functionality.
* Optimize code to match product requirements, ensure quality, and coding standards.
* Provide feedback to the hardware development team by identifying areas for improvement based on integration testing results.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* +3 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for embedded systems.
* Strong experience with C, C++ programming languages. Experience with Python and Verilog is a plus.
* Coding ARM core-based microcontrollers/microprocessors.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with hardware testing/debugging practices using lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers etc.).
* Experience with FPGAs and Linux operating systems, FreeRTOS is a plus.
* Strong desire to work in a start-up environment with a hands-on approach and can-do attitude.
