Job summary
Attenborough & Tudor PCN has an excellent opportunity for a paramedic to join out team and support out network of 4 practices, on a full time basis for hours per is a supportive role, working in tandem with our team of paramedics, GPs and other clinical staff to deliver health services.
Main duties of the job
1. Assess & triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the practice team.
2. Advise patients on general healthcare & promote self-management where appropriate.
3. Be able to perform specialist health checks and reviews, perform and interpret ECGs, alongside other results as appropriate & perform investigatory procedures as required.
4. Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, etc.
5. Perform investigatory procedures needed by patients and those requested by GPs and the wider PCN.
6. Support the delivery of anticipatory care and end of life care plans & lead certain community services.
7. Use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients & service users, promoting self-care & empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.
8. Prescribe, issue and review medications as appropriate following policy, patient group directives, NICE (national) and local clinical guidelines and local care pathways.
About us
Attenborough Surgery is a training practice with GP registrars & medical students, as well as in house teaching and a team of salaried GPs, first contact physiotherapist, clinical pharmacists, social prescriber and dietitian as well as an award-winning team of mental health workers.
We are a large practice of 30K+ patients, and you would be working across all 4 sites which use the same EMIS IT system and phone system. All sites are within 15minutes driveof each other around Watford and our main site, Bushey, is a new purpose-built medical centre.
We are easy accessible from Hertfordshire or North London, situated 5 mins from Junction 5 of the M1. We have parking on all sites, with a dedicated space when working at Bushey in our underground car park.

Essential
9. Be able to perform specialist health checks and reviews including supporting the delivery of anticipatory care plans and leading community services, perform and interpret ECGS, perform investigatory procedures as required and undertake the collection of pathological specimens.
10. Be able to advise on general health care, promoting self-management and signposting where appropriate.
11. Be an effective and proactive communicator with all colleagues and attend/contribute to all meetings including working with our complex care team.
12. Be an effective communicator with patients and family members where appropriate, maintaining accurate and contemporaneous patient health care records, necessary documentation and paperwork as appropriate to the consultation.
Qualifications
Essential
13. A degree/diploma in Paramedicine or equivalent experience and working towards developing masters level.
14. Be working at least at a Band 6 level, be able to prescribe and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
