HGV Technician / Mechanic Location: Adlington Salary: Up to 19.50ph plus bonus schemes Enhanced Overtime rates Overtime: Available at time We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated HGV Technician / Mechanic to join a leading commercial vehicle maintenance provider. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual looking to work with a variety of HGVs, trailers, and drawbars, carrying out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics to the highest standards. HGV Class 1 License Bonus extra earnings for holding a Class 1 license. HGV Class 1 Training company-sponsored training to obtain an HGV Class 1 license for the right candidate. Work Schedule: Week One: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Week Two: Tuesday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, plus Saturday morning (7:00 AM 12:00 PM) Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, service, and repair all makes and models of HGVs, trailers, and drawbars. Use the latest diagnostic tools and manufacturer-specific diagnostic equipment. Perform repairs on brakes, clutches, gearboxes, engines, and electrical systems. Carry out MOT inspections, preparation, and presentation. Conduct roller brake testing, fault diagnosis, and necessary repairs. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Occasionally work on small plant machinery. Report to the Service Manager and follow company policies and procedures. Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will be a qualified vehicle mechanic with one of the following: NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. City & Guilds or an equivalent qualification. Time-served experience in vehicle mechanics. Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail and the ability to diagnose and repair vehicles accurately. Proficiency in using modern diagnostic tools and laptop computers. Ability to work independently and efficiently, maintaining a high standard of quality. A proactive "can-do" attitude with a flexible approach to various tasks. Ability to problem-solve with minimal supervision. Own tools are required. An HGV License is preferred but not essential.
