Floating Day Instructor – A hands-on, creative role with purpose!
Minstead, Near Lyndhurst, New Forest.
Full-Time 37.5 hours per week
8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday
Salary £24,180 per annum
As a Floating Instructor, you’ll bring energy, enthusiasm, and craft skills to a role where no two days are the same!
One day, you’ll be getting your hands dirty in the vegetable patch, helping individuals grow their own produce or you could be guiding gardening sessions, showing the joy of planting, pruning, and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. The next, you’ll be working alongside animals, teaching responsibility and care. Another day, you’ll be leading craft sessions in the studio, sharing skills like weaving, pottery, or woodwork.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all these skills-you can learn them!

The role:
* Plan, deliver and develop the training, activities, care and support to the people we support according to their wishes and requests.
* Report to the senior Instructors for daily allocation of cover either for instructors or 1-1 support workers or any other tasks required in day opportunities.
* Assess, record and recognise the progress and achievements of the people we support on Nourish.
* Assess the support needs of the people we support throughout the day and ensure these are met, including personal care, effective communication, healthy eating and administering medication if required.
* Provide a safe working environment for all and follow safe working practice to a high standard in compliance with organisational and regulatory policies and best practice ensuring delivery of a quality service.
* Share skills, experience and feedback with the Day Opportunities team in a way that helps to improve and develop the service.
What are we looking for?
* Experience of working alongside adults with a learning disability and or autism and leading activities in a day opportunities setting.
* Experience and/or skills in arts/crafts and being able to pass on these skills to others.
* Driving the minibus as part of a rota.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
* Confidence in delivering structured activities to individuals or groups.
