A primary school in Angmering is currently looking for a full-time Individual Needs Assistant with SEN experience to start in November until the end of the academic year. The school is looking for someone with experience working with children with Autism and challenging behaviours. The ideal candidate will have a background working within mainstream or SEN schools and be available to start in November. Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30-3.30pm
The Applicant:
* Level 2/3 teaching assistant or relevant teaching assistant experience.
* Relevant SEN experience within an education setting or from home or care work.
* Knowledge and experience of the primary curriculum.
* Well-versed in behaviour management strategies.
* Nurturing and caring attitude.
* Grade C or above in Maths and English.
* Excellent communication skills (non-verbal skills desired but not essential).
Responsibilities:
* Working as a general Teaching Assistant.
* Providing 1-1 support to help reach appropriate, related targets.
* Leading small group sessions promoting key skills needed within general lessons.
* Assisting with classroom behaviour where needed.
* Communicating effectively with parents and staff.
