You must behappy working customer facing at all times. From morningshifts until evening work. You will be trained to provide amultifunctional service required within Front of House Bar Food andBeverage and Housekeeping where applicable.
As aMulti Task Team Member you will deal with enquiries and roomreservations made on the telephone online or by email. Receptionists greet and welcome guests on arrival at thehotel; it is important that you make a good first impression a warmwelcome and pleasant atmosphere in the reception area can help toget guests stay off to the best start.
You willprovide excellent counter and table service when applicable to thehotels guests and have complete knowledge of all food and beverageitems offered on themenu.
Jobresponsibilities
* Beaware of all the various departments of the Hotel and to be able tocommunicate effectively.
* Receptionists checkguests in and out using a computerisedsystem.
* Familiarise yourself with the Hotelscheck in/out procedures.
* Familiarise yourselfwith the Hotels Reception computer system.
* Youissue keys to guests and provide guests with clear directions totheir accommodation.
* You keep accurate recordsof which guests have arrived at or left the hotel. You make surethat any necessary information goes to the housekeeping kitchenmaintenance and management departments.
* Youprovide guests with information about local attractions and placesof interest. You might provide additional services for theconvenience of guests such as ordering newspapers or taxis storingvaluables and taking messages.
* You make surethat guests receive their messages without delay along with anymail that might arrive for them.
* Directingincoming calls and helping guests to make externalcalls.
Hotel Receptionists prepare acustomers account when they leave the hotel. You put together thecost of additional items such as drinks telephone calls andnewspapers and include them in the finalbill.
* You take payment from thecustomer in cash or by credit/debitcard.
* Guests might come to the HotelReceptionist with any queries or complaints not all of which willbe easy to deal with.
* Have a good knowledge ofthe Hotels charge rates.
* Have a good knowledgeof the Hotels facilities.
* You must have a fullunderstanding of the importance of proper DutyHandovers.
* Ensure that all Guest RegistrationForms are filed out in full (to comply with the Prevention ofTerrorism Act).
* Ensure that guest security andthe Hotels security is maintained at all times reporting anythingsuspicious to your manager.
* Ensure that allmonies are accounted for and available for collection andinspection. You will be accountable for all money at receptionwhilst on duty (this includes float and all money paidin).
* Ensure that you have a goodknowledge of the Hotels policy relating to Health and Safety andFire Evacuation Procedures.
* In the event of anemergency Hotel Receptionists have responsibilities such as helpingpeople as they evacuate the building calling the emergency servicesand checking that all guests have reachedsafety.
GeneralAssistant Multi Taskrole
* You willprovide excellent counter and table service when applicable to thehotels guests and have complete knowledge of all food and beverageitems offered on the menu.
* Maintain close dailycommunication with the kitchen with regards to orders and specialpromotions.
* Ensure that designated bar is setup and fully stocked to the required standard whenapplicable.
* Maintain the highest standard offood and general hygiene ensuring that all aspects of Health andSafety are complied with.
* Ensure that tilloperation procedures are followed and that all security proceduresare carried out.
* Ensure that customers receivea courteous friendly and efficient service at alltimes.
* Familiarise yourself with clients whouse the Hotel frequently and assist the Hotel in attracting morecustomers.
* Ensure that you assist themanagement in carrying out the Departmental cleaningprogram.
* Report any problems that have arisenduring the shift to the Hotel General Manager or Senior Person onduty.
* To ensure that you are dressed accordingto Hotel and Company Standard.
* You must complywith the Hotels Customer CarePrinciples.
* Familiarise yourself with clientswho use the Hotel frequently and assist the Hotel in attractingmore of the same.
* Assist the Reception team byattending to all operations related to the Front Desk and reportany problems that have arisen during theshift.
* To undertake any other reasonablerequests as made by the management.
* To attendcompany training asrequired.
