Clinical Lead Nurse | Devon| Full Time | £45,000 per year
Our client is a Devon-based care home providing residential, nursing, and dementia care. They are seeking a Clinical Lead Nurse to join their team.
The Clinical Lead Nurse is a senior member of the nursing team at Halwill Manor Nursing Home, providing professional nursing leadership and management support across the home. The role involves overseeing high-quality care delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supervising clinical practices.
Are you the right person for the job?
Current RMN/RGN registration with NMC PIN
Previous experience in senior nursing roles or leadership positions
Comprehensive understanding of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks
Strong clinical experience, especially in elderly care and dementia management
Demonstrated ability in clinical supervision, mentoring, and team management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Computer literacy and ability to use healthcare IT systems effectively
Highly organised, proactive, and able to make independent clinical judgments
Commitment to continuous professional development and training
Reliability, adaptability, and a strong commitment to high standards of care
Satisfactory DBS clearance
What will your role look like?
Lead by example, providing outstanding care and ensuring the nursing staff uphold the highest standards
Oversee clinical care provided to residents, ensuring individual needs are effectively met
Manage nursing staff, including training, supervision, and performance management
Participate in and contribute proactively to Senior Management Team meetings
Coordinate clinical shifts, ensuring safe and effective staffing levels at all times
Ensure accurate and timely administration of medication and maintain comprehensive records using the Medication Administration Record (MAR) system
Lead specific clinical responsibilities such as Infection Control, Health & Safety, Clinical Audits, or Care Planning
Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, family members, and external healthcare professionals
Ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and other relevant healthcare regulations
Act as the primary clinical decision-maker and manage operational responsibilities during shifts
Supervise and provide mentoring and support to nursing staff and healthcare assistants
Develop, implement, and monitor individualised care plans
Oversee and ensure accurate, detailed documentation within clinical records
Coordinate regular clinical audits and reviews to uphold clinical excellence
Conduct regular medication audits and oversee adherence to medication policies
Manage the clinical aspects of incident reporting, safeguarding, and risk management
Report maintenance or repair issues promptly to the Registered Manager
Support recruitment, training, and onboarding of new nursing staff
Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and company operations at all times
