At Sciennes we are committed to ensuring every child grows up loved, safe and respected. We want every child to receive an education which develops their personality, talents, mind and body so they can reach their fullest potential (Article 28 and 29 UNCRC). Our skilled staff team, engaged families and motivated learners work together to ensure that we live by our school motto of Believe, Achieve.
Our school ethos is based on equality. We are one of very few schools who have achieved a Gold Rights Respecting School Award twice. We hold the LGBT Silver Charter's School Award which is the highest accolade that can be achieved by a primary school. Our children's success is a key priority for us. We have very high attainment in Literacy and Numeracy. Our approach to planning is based on stage collaboration which is then tailored to meet the needs of individual learners. We have a strong team who provide bespoke interventions to children and families to make sure they receive the right support, at the right time.
As part of our commitment to Getting it Right for Every Child, we are looking for a Support for Learning Teacher who will work to ensure every child can claim their right to an education. We are looking for someone who is nurturing, compassionate and invested in children. Your values will be underpinned by the UNCRC and Teachers Charter and you will play a key role in raising attainment through capacity building, support for learners, working with partners and managing individual support plans.
This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
