Positions available:
Saga Robotics are currently hiring a full-time coworker to complement our plant science team in Kent, UK. This role offers you the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced agricultural robots in the world in real farming operations at a commercial level. We are looking for ambitious individuals who have a passion for horticulture and are eager to help us create new sustainable agricultural technologies and services in strawberry farms.
As a key member of our data product team, you will collect ground truth data relating to flowering, fruiting, plant growth and fecundity, that will play a critical role in helping develop predictive algorithms that will be used by our robotics solutions to reliably predict yield. You will also be responsible for data collection to demonstrate the value and efficacy of UVC as a chemical-free plant protection solution.
You will collect data on yield and disease incidence. You will be responsible for coordinating with the harvest and plant protection teams at our grower partner, ensuring reliable, accurate and consistent data collection and recording and analysing data collected from trials on strawberry farms in the Maidstone area. You will be working closely with our Robotics and Perception teams who will help you produce clear, complete and coherent data.

Key requirements:
Candidates should have a BSc or equivalent in a relevant area, such as horticulture, plant sciences or biology. They will have experience in collecting data from large-scale trials and will be an organised and meticulous record keeper. Candidates should also meet the technical requirements listed below and be prepared to travel within Kent with occasional trips to Scotland.
