Department overview:
Nomura's Global Markets Division handles client transactions for financial institutions, corporates, governments and investment funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, including currencies, interest rates and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products. We have taken market-leading positions across the globe by leveraging the strength of our talent, client relationships and technology.
By developing strong relationships with our client base through consistent interaction, independent advice and pre-eminent access to Asia, we have built a powerful global franchise across credit, interest rates and currency products. Our client services cover both high-volume flow products and carefully tailored structured solutions. Responsibilities:
1. Running a market maker Credit Trading book in assigned curves in the CEEMEA Credit space
2. Work actively with Sales to build and maintain close relationships with clients (e.g. Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Institutional Investors)
3. Work actively with risk management to manage risk in trading book.
4. Stay up to date with any news flow, company news, and any relevant events which can have an impact on assigned curves and broader market
5. Assisting in the day-to-day management of the desk’s business processes
6. Active management of the various risks on the book.
Key objectives critical to success:
1. Previous experience in trading of Credit
2. Ability to generate P&L in line with the budget set for the business.
3. Ability to independently generate and structure trade ideas to execute for the trading book and/or clients
4. Actively hedge and manage market risks in the trading book within predefined limits.
5. Capable of creating close relationships with Sales, other trading desks and clients
