IT Programme Manager Annual Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 Location: Portsmouth Job Type: Full-time A leading organisation in the utility sector is on the lookout for an IT Programme Manager with a strong background in ERP solution implementation and strategic technology programme management. The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading complex technology and business change programmes, engaging with senior stakeholders, and managing third-party relationships. This role is pivotal in driving the transformation of our business, aligning strategic vision with actionable plans, and fostering continuous improvement. Day-to-day of the role: Lead the delivery of IT programmes that are key to the business roadmap, from initiation to delivery and benefits tracking. Define programme outcomes, goals, deliverables, and timelines. Govern the schedule, costs, and quality of the programme. Optimise the five-year capital programme, collaborating with stakeholders to drive efficiency and manage delivery. Manage the pipeline and roadmap, developing key projects and understanding their impact and cross-dependencies. Engage with all levels of the company, including project delivery teams, senior executives, and the board. Develop and manage the resource plan, team performance, and relationships with internal and external partners. Matrix manage large programme teams with internal, contract, and third-party resources. Engage and manage third-party suppliers and service providers essential to programme delivery. Report key programme information and maintain stakeholder communication. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience leading complex IT programmes and projects, with values up to £5m. Proficiency in guiding change within an IT delivery environment. Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, including at the executive level. In-depth understanding of delivering software products and services. Experience in managing matrix teams and using agile and waterfall delivery techniques. Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, APM) is essential. Strong financial management skills with experience managing projects up to £15m. Proficiency in Microsoft applications - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio. Experience in the water industry or related sectors is desirable. Effective communication skills, including writing business cases and board reports.
