Job Description
Position: Quantity Surveyor
Experience: Looking for a candidate with over two years experience, preferably three.
Responsibilities:
1. Accurate preparation of pricing and costing documentation.
2. Management of subcontractor and client requests to ensure efficient and profitable delivery of projects.
3. Preparation of valuations and financial assessments.
4. Developing new clients and maintaining relationships to develop profitable work streams.
5. Pricing of projects, including:
1. Compilation of budget prices based on development plans and briefing documents.
2. Pricing schemes based on current schedules of rates and full working drawing packages.
3. Producing tender packages based on available tender information.
4. Producing prices and programming for small works.
6. Conducting cost analysis for all submitted tenders and priced packages.
7. Compiling and utilizing subcontractor tender information based on the scope of works.
8. Writing and compiling subcontractor orders and qualifying subcontractor competence.
9. Ensuring take-off information is compiled, including required equipment purchases.
10. Compiling a drawing distribution list for correct distribution to subcontractors.
11. Ensuring site has an accurate account and brief of construction requirements, with a process for change requests (CRF) sign-off.
12. Ensuring timely processes for Letters of Intent (LOI) and orders to meet client expectations.
13. Completing a Risk Register of Lead-In items to ensure timely delivery.
14. Conducting 'Can We Build It' meetings to resolve design issues before contract commencement.
15. Attending pre-contract and pre-start meetings, ensuring all actions are tracked and followed up.
16. Managing site process, including:
1. Attending site meetings.
2. Managing drawing change processes and tracking payments.
3. Ensuring client awareness of time required for CRF instructions.
17. Monitoring site activity for compliance with the scope of works.
18. Ensuring timely valuations are agreed with cost consultants and payment schedules adhered to.
19. Preparing and agreeing final accounts within two weeks of project completion.
20. Recording and monitoring program progress and cost implications, obtaining client authorization.
21. Signing invoice payments to match completed works as per quotations and variations.
22. Providing support in other business areas as required.
Additional Requirements:
Driving license and car required for travel to sites across the UK.
