JOB PURPOSE
Providing proactive health and safety support as both a practitioner and business partner to the Castleford Manufacturing Site, while managing external H&S specialist services as outlined in this job description. In collaboration with the Castleford Internal Manufacturing Leadership team, this role will drive the ongoing development and implementation of Burberry’s health and safety policies and strategy to protect our people, brand, and customer experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. H&S Expert: Provide expert advice and support for all health and safety matters across all shifts.
2. Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain and implement a robust H&S management system to ensure legal and company compliance, and reduce risks.
3. Audits & Regulations: Manage relationships with regulators and ensure audit readiness for internal and external inspections.
4. Incident Management: Lead incident reporting, investigation, and trend analysis to drive H&S improvements.
5. Training & Communication: Develop and deliver H&S training, communications, and promote a strong safety culture.
6. Emergency Planning & Fire Safety: Lead emergency planning and partner on fire safety measures.
7. Inspections & Assessments: Conduct risk-based H&S inspections and assessments.
8. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including global H&S teams.
9. Continuous Improvement: Monitor H&S performance, identify gaps, and implement proactive measures.
10. Contractor and Equipment Management: Manage contractor safety and ensure plant and equipment standards.
11. Wellbeing Support: Support mental and occupational health, wellbeing, and D&I initiatives.
12. Reporting and Documentation: Create and maintain H&S documentation, including reports and analysis.
PERSONAL PROFILE
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent (Preferable) with a recognised H&S qualification
2. Minimum GradIOSH level or equivalent with Professional Body (IOSH/IIRSM)
3. 2 years’ experience in a health and safety role
4. Recognised H&S qualification and commitment to continue professional development
5. Experience or qualifications related to RRO, PUWER, DSEAR, LOLER, CDM, Training
6. IT skills including MS Office
7. Excellent organisational skills
