Job summary
The Ashcroft Practicehas an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to join our team on afull-time basis, for hours per week.
Main duties of the job
1. Greeting and directing all patients.
2. Making appointments.
3. Answering queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member as appropriate.
4. Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
5. Advising patients of practice procedures.
6. Registering new patients.
7. Accurately maintaining patient database and records, photocopying, filing and scanning.
About us
We are a small, friendly, supportive, democratic and enthusiastic GMS practice, dedicated to providing traditional family orientated general practice. We are based in a 2-storey converted bungalow in Stopsley, Luton. We currently have approximately 4,800 patients.
We operate the SystmOne computer system.
The Ashcroft Practice has easy access to M1 and central train stations and is bordering attractive Hertfordshire countryside including excellent schools.

8. Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
9. Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
10. Ability to work as part of a team.
11. Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
12. Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
13. Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
