In this diverse role of high impact, we are looking to hire an energised, inclusive and forward thinking EHS Leader - UK to join our team in our plant in Cramlington, Northumberland, with a direct reporting line to our Plant Manager.
Your Mission:
* On a daily basis, and as an EHS professional, “Safety First!” is your inspiration to work with all of us throughout all levels onsite and the UK to continuously optimise our areas of occupational health and safety, environmental protection, energy / waste management, plant and process safety.
* You will work closely with us to comply with the latest safety standards in line with current legislation and advise us on new and / or changed requirements.
* In order to secure the safety of our people, you will develop and deploy programmes and strategies that promote awareness, inspire and engage to form an inclusive safety culture.
* You will focus on the big picture of any given health and safety concern and create policies that will reliably produce significant, measurable results.

Qualifications
What we expect from you! - Your Expertise:
* NEBOSH certification and knowledge of Health and Safety Management / Systems and behavioural safety and change management
* Previous work experience to demonstrate continuous improvement as an environment, health and safety professional, ideally with expertise in manufacturing.
* Experience of people management
* Knowledge of process safety, as well as working experience with regulators (Health and Safety Executive and local authorities), and according to national and European safety regulations / requirements including dangerous goods, explosion protection, fire protection, emission control, chemical and environmental law
* Project management experience with excellent attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability in being a good coach, listening and sharing information, empowering your team and a willingness to work with people at all levels of the organisation.
* Creativity and innovation, entrepreneurial spirit for growing a sustainable business to set your career at Avery Dennison
* Willingness to travel within the EMENA region (2-3 weeks per year).
* Observe the EHS process and use process mapping tools to streamline the current process and simplify the work.
* Ability to see the big picture, filter the “noise” and guide the organization to work on the priorities.
* Knowledgeable with the chemical and environmental regulation in the UK and EU.
* Willingness to learn new competencies and develop team
