Whitakers Garden Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Santa in our Christmas Grotto. As the face of our festive experience, you will play a crucial role in creating joyful and memorable moments for children and families.
This position requires a warm and engaging personality, with the ability to bring the magic of Christmas to life. Responsibilities:
* Welcome children and families to the Grotto with a warm and cheerful demeanour, embodying the spirit of Mr/Mrs Clause.
* Deliver a convincing and joyful portrayal, maintaining character throughout each interaction.
* Pose for photographs with families, helping to create lasting holiday memories.
* Collaborate with Grotto staff to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
* Assist with the smooth operation of the Grotto, including managing visitor flow and ensuring the space is welcoming and festive.
* Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of visitors and staff within the Grotto.
* Engage in pre-event briefings to stay informed of daily schedules, special requests, or any changes in procedures.
* Represent Whitakers Garden Centre with professionalism, ensuring that every visitor leaves with a positive impression.
* Report any safety concerns or issues to the management team promptly.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working with children, such as in teaching, childcare, or entertainment, is highly desirable. You should be comfortable and confident in engaging with individuals of all ages.
* Punctuality and a professional attitude are essential. You should be dependable, ensuring you meet all scheduled appearances and represent Whitakers Garden Centre positively.
* A valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) is required for this role, or a willingness to obtain one before starting.
* Ensuring costume is clean and presentable and that the Grotto is tidy and festive contributes significantly to the overall visitor experience.
* The holiday season can be both joyous and demanding. A positive attitude and resilience are key, ensuring that you remain cheerful and engaging even during busy or challenging moments.
