We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Procurement Specialist to join our team. The Group Procurement Specialist will leverage procurement strategies and tools to drive cost reduction, enhance supplier relationships, and deliver long-term value. This role will not only optimise procurement efficiency across the company’s diverse supply chain but also take a strategic leadership approach to shape market opportunities, influence supplier behaviours, and align procurement activities with broader corporate objectives. The specialist will employ various methods to implement cost-saving strategies and build innovative supplier partnerships, transforming procurement into a key driver of business growth.
Responsibilities:
Supply chain & procurement:
* Conduct thorough analysis and reporting on group procurement trends across all regions to identify opportunities for cost reduction, value creation, and process improvement.
* Leverage procurement strategies to drive efficiency and innovation across the supply chain, ensuring that supplier relationships are strengthened, and long-term value is achieved.
* Consolidate procurement volumes across regions or product lines to maximize purchasing power and secure improved pricing from suppliers.
* Implement demand management strategies by working with internal stakeholders to optimize requirements and specifications, leading to cost reduction and reduced procurement spend.
* Proactively manage supplier relationships by maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with qualified, consistent, and reputable suppliers, while researching, sourcing and expanding the supplier base to meet evolving business needs.
* Foster competition among suppliers, leverage agreements across the company, and consolidate procurement volumes across regions or product lines to maximize purchasing power and promote cost savings and value creation.
* Proactively manage and develop strategic, long-term partnerships with key suppliers to foster innovation, ensure reliable supply, and co-create value across the supply chain, while expanding the supplier base to meet evolving business needs.
* Identify key areas of material supply and recommend short-, medium-, and long-term strategies for driving efficiency and reducing costs.
* Review and manage pricing agreements, discounts, annual rebates, and payment terms to ensure the company receives optimal value from its suppliers.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders such as R&D, manufacturing, and finance to align procurement strategies with overall business goals, ensure procurement is embedded in product development and operational decision-making, and identify innovative, cost-effective supply routes for new product requirements.
* Work with key individuals to develop sustainable procurement practices and explore opportunities for new sustainable product developments and suppliers, ensuring environmental and social governance (ESG) considerations are factored into procurement decisions.
Compliance & Design:
* Reviewing and understanding technical drawings ahead of purchase.
* Develop an in-depth knowledge of Radii Planet systems and the components required within these systems.
* Develop a very good understanding of the manufacturing and installation processes involved with all materials within our systems.
Skills / Qualifications:
* At least 5 years’ experience in procurement.
* Self-motivated, able to use initiative and work responsibly with minimal supervision.
* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to apply accuracy and attention to detail within their work.
* Excellent time management and prioritising skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and build a rapport with suppliers and regional teams.
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings and technical data sheets.
* Ability to travel to suppliers and UK construction sites.
* A construction background or a manufacturing background will be advantageous.

Location / Hours:
* Based in Head Office in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
* Working Hours: 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Friday (with a one-hour lunch break each day).
