NPD Project Manager (Formulation & Fragrance) — High Growth Disruptor Brand
Hybrid working, 3 to 4 days per week based in either St Albans or Central London
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + Bonus, Pension, Healthcare, Life Insurance, and Holiday
Our client, one of the fastest-growing and most innovative brands in the UK, is seeking to bring on board an NPD Project Manager to support the coordination, management, and execution of new and existing product development, optimization, and project delivery. This role involves liaising with various internal and external teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will report directly to the Head of Product and play a pivotal role in streamlining processes, ensuring clear communication, and contributing to the growth and success of our clients product team.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Build, maintain, and manage a trend-focused calendar and pipeline for Existing Product Development (EPD) and New Product Development (NPD).
* Drive the development and management of product concepts, formulations, and scents across categories, ensuring they meet Cost of Goods (COG) targets.
* Oversee all aspects of EPD/NPD projects to ensure timely delivery, scope alignment, and budget compliance.
* Act as the primary liaison between internal teams (product, procurement, brand, and growth) and external partners to foster clear communication and seamless collaboration.
* Monitor and control project budgets to maximize resource efficiency and maintain financial discipline.
* Partner closely with the formulation and fragrance leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and key decision-making.
* Ensure all quality and regulatory requirements are met, upholding the brand's high standards.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and have access to necessary information.
* Proactively identify potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle, implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
* Champion innovative ideas and strategies that align with and advance organizational objectives.
* Provide regular status reports to the Head of Product, ensuring transparency and alignment on progress, challenges, and successes.
Position Requirements:
* A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is highly advantageous.
* Ideally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a product development environment.
* Experience within the personal care, household, beauty, or cosmetics sector is a must.
* Project management certification (PMP, Prince) would be beneficial.
* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Adaptable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
* A team player.
