Join us in overseeing Estates staff and facilities services across the College’s diverse multi-campus estate. Lead in Health and Safety compliance for Estates, manage contractors and minor projects, while providing support for capital projects and other estates initiatives.
The post will be situated at Hereford, serving Herefordshire College, Holme Lacy College, and Ludlow Sixth Form College.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage delivery of hard and soft facilities services across a diverse multi-campus estate, including modern and listed buildings, classrooms, vocational workshops, kitchens, sports facilities, equestrian and animal management facilities, agricultural buildings and more.
* Manage estates staff, operations, and lead minor projects.
* Support major projects, capital works, and develop planned maintenance programmes.
* Lead in Health and Safety compliance for Estates assets, including statutory inspections and risk assessments.
* Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain technical documentation, and implement technology advancements.
Person Specification:
* At least 3 years’ experience in estates or estates management.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
* Proven experience in managing contractors and teams.
* Strong written communication skills and excellent record-keeping abilities.
* Proficiency in IT, including relevant software and systems.
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* Commitment to professional development, including working towards qualifications such as NEBOSH.
A relevant degree or evidence of ongoing professional development in facilities management (e.g., membership of IWFM or IOSH), education sector experience, technical knowledge of building plant equipment, budget management, and project management skills.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel and work across multiple sites, with occasional flexibility in hours to meet the needs of the college, such as covering sick leave or supporting events. A valid driving license is also essential.
