Market Leading retailer are seeking a Head of Estates to join their growing business. With a growing portfolio of over 700 trading stores and a forward thinking business strategy to grow further, the position will be a key stakeholder in achieving the companies exciting expansion plans.
In this role you will lead a team who take day-to-day responsibility for the management of the company’s property portfolio. The team is responsible for ensuring that property operational issues are minimised, costs are mitigated and that lease events are monitored and acted upon in a timely manner. The role requires someone who is hands-on in style, who can provide leadership and ensuring company strategic objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities / Objectives:
• To lead and develop a team of Estates Managers
• Preparation of Board papers to be presented to senior managers and Directors
• To monitor and manage key lease events and to allocate appropriately
• To complete from inception to conclusion rent reviews and lease renewals
• To ensure any disputes between Landlords and Tenants are resolved promptly with the minimum disruption and cost to the business
• To resolve operational problems for stores quickly and efficiently
• To be able to make and implement own decisions, balancing risks against benefits for the Company’s long term financial objectives
• Where appropriate ensuring property costs align to lease liabilities.
• To take overall responsibility for the management of the property database
Experience:
• Significant experience within a Senior Estate Management role
• Exceptional negotiating skills with the ability to identify and achieve positive commercial results in line with the company needs and objectives
• Ideally experience in the acquiring and disposal of retail premises.
• Experience of managing third party professional teams and tenant/landlord relationships.
• Track record of building and sustaining relationships both internally and external to the business
• Aware of legislative changes that affect property.

Relevant professional qualifications (eg MRICS or equivalent) would be advantageous
