**Volunteer Counsellor Opportunity in Gloucestershire**
Support adults and young people affected by drug and alcohol problems in a dynamic and dedicated team.
**About the Role**
Via's Gloucestershire service provides a support service for adults and young people affected by drug and alcohol problems. As a Volunteer Counsellor, you will work alongside a dedicated team of substance misuse practitioners and other professionals to provide a safe and supportive environment for service users.
**Key Responsibilities**
* See a minimum of 3 clients and a maximum of 6 clients per week (1 day)
* Keep accurate records of work and feedback any issues to the line manager and clinical supervisor
* Attend ongoing training and adhere to all Via policies and procedures
* Participate in meetings and carry out tasks as deemed necessary to support the needs of the counselling service
**Requirements**
* Trainees in their final year of an undergraduate degree or equivalent, or at a postgraduate level
* Significant and appropriate training in counselling or psychotherapy
* Membership of a counselling governing body (BACP, BPS, or UKCP)
* Previous counselling experience or training
* Working towards counselling, psychology, or psychotherapy accreditation
