The Data Analyst is a demanding role that adds a new dimension to the operating model within the UK Security Vetting (UKSV) Planning, Performance & Data Analytics team. The team is responsible for supporting UKSV to plan, improve capacity, to drive performance, to seek out emerging risks and identify areas of opportunity to drive performance and the overall decision-making process.
It also requires building strong relationships, to highlight issues in a manner which builds confidence and partnership and engaging in new areas, e.g., analysing TMX data to develop professional and independent findings to guide the business. The role requires the successful candidate to act flexibly and balance pressing needs with the opportunity to adapt standardised published date into actionable analysis, which provides insight across various layers.
The Data Analyst will provide accurate, quality, and comprehensive insights that are used to provide context to centralised reports, giving guidance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly view which allows for proactive or corrective action to be taken. These insights will be used in reporting that is published to Ministers/Director-level boards/ELT and Internal UKSV business areas.
* Take responsibility for the data analysis in your given area and help the wider business teams to measure and assess their data & insights.
* Help to plan and ensure the delivery function can access opportunities within published data sets to enhance the service.
* Work independently whilst also contributing to the wider matrix management team.
* Have ability to create and develop frameworks; identifying reporting requirement and support non-technical colleagues on understanding the data.
* Take ownership for the accuracy and quality of data within their own analysis.
* Work closely with Performance & Planning Analysts in defining new data requirements for future performance reporting.
* To collate and distribute extensive statistical reports on the UKSV Key Performance Indicators, and to distribute reports both currently (daily, weekly, monthly) and one-off basis.
* To seek out and highlight proactively areas for attention or discussion that impact the business.
