Complete all fabrication/welding tasks as assigned by the Workshop Manager accurately and efficiently, using own initiative as far as possible.
Notify Workshop Manager of any concerns in relation to the above.
You will need to be physically fit due to high levels of manual handling duties.
Take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
Must be able to work to deadlines and offer flexible working hours.
Requirements of the Fabricator / Welder:
1. In-depth knowledge of and respect for current and relevant H&S requirements.
2. Fabrication and Welding (TIG) & MiG.
3. Extensive and current experience of staircase and balustrades welding & fabrication in Architectural Metalwork and MIG.
4. Must be able to TIG weld to a high standard.
5. Accurately work from and interpret detailed drawings as and when required.
6. Clamping, holding, tac-welding, heat-bending, bolting or grinding parts as necessary to satisfy technical requirements.
7. Ensure parts are defect free from assembly process and previous operations.
8. Prioritize, generate and promote safe working practices and adherence to Health and Safety standards at all times.
9. Day-to-day responsibility for operation of production area.
10. To operate role-related equipment within designated areas using health & safety rules at all times, whilst maintaining targeted output.
11. Consistently maintain and update all relevant documentation relating to production activities in line with agreed company standards ensuring that regulatory and quality requirements are met.
12. Maintain adherence to PPE standards.
13. Recording of quality issues and undertaking corrective action(s).
14. Maintenance of a safe working environment, keeping areas clear of debris and hazards at all times and ensuring housekeeping standards are at an acceptable level, recognizing potential/actual hazards and taking corrective actions to minimize accidents.
15. Follow company procedures relating to correct disposal of waste.
Not Essential but would be helpful if candidate holds a Forklift License (Counter Balance and Side Loader).
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. A valid UK Driving license.
2. A good standard of both written and spoken English.
3. Ability to work well under pressure.
4. Ability to work well as part of a team and also under your own initiative when required.
5. Well organized with excellent time management.
6. Demonstrate a desire for self-improvement and enthusiasm to learn new skills.
7. Ability to interpret and work from drawings.
8. Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
9. 5-10 years experience with a proven track record working in Architectural and Metal workshop.
