Head Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal
Does a 4- or 5-day week with no weekends and no out-of-hours work sound appealing? Are you a nurse who enjoys being hands-on? Perhaps you're interested in learning Schedule 3 procedures or even pursuing a certificate? Are you looking for career progression in a supportive and close-knit team, where you can truly make a difference? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you.
About the role
Norwood Road Veterinary Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Head Veterinary Nurse to join our small but dynamic team. We offer a diverse caseload, ranging from adorable puppies to specialist surgeries and scans. Whether you're passionate about stitch-ups or enjoy handling cat abscesses, or if you prefer running nurse clinics, we welcome your expertise and interests.
As Head Nurse, you'll play a key role in mentoring and supporting our team, with the opportunity to act as a Clinical Coach to one of our Student Veterinary Nurses. If you’re not yet a Clinical Coach, don’t worry – we’re more than happy to support your training. We believe in hands-on learning, providing CPD opportunities, and yes – plenty of cake to keep you going!
Collaboration is at the heart of how we work, ensuring that every team member’s voice is heard and respected. A Clinical Coaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
In this role, you’ll have the chance to help shape the nursing team in key areas such as anaesthesia, surgery, inpatient care, infection control, and nurse consultations. There are also administrative duties involved, but we’re always keen to hear new ideas and explore how we can help you progress in your career.
Find your perfect balance - No weekends or OOH
This is a full or part-time role. Typically, the full-time role is 40 hours across 4 or 5 days, no weekends and no OOH. However, we are flexible and therefore happy to discuss working days/hours that would suit you as we care about your work/life balance.
