NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
Applications are invited for this 6-session post based at Stobhill Hospital in the north east of Glasgow. The post includes 3 sessions in the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit and 2 sessions inpatient Rehabilitation Psychiatry based at Kelvin Ward Gartnavel Royal Hospital with 1 session of SPA. There is a well-developed multi-disciplinary team in each clinical area and good administrative support. You would be working alongside another Consultant Psychiatrist and Specialty Doctor within IPCU and there is close contact with the other Psychiatric Consultants in the North East Division.
The post-holder will have, or will achieve, Approved Medical Practitioner status in accordance with the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.
Candidates must have full GMC Registration and a license to practice. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of Higher Specialist Training leading to a CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry at the date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
