Lockheed Martin UK - Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support. LMUK SS, as part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, is also responsible for the management of operations at RNAD Coulport. Looking to the future, LMUK SS supports the joint US and UK submarine design efforts., We're looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join our team based from RNAD Coulport, Helensburgh. This role benefits from a 4-day working week (36 Hours) Monday - Thursday, giving you every Friday off.,
* Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on Service Units (which includes NDT and Air Conditioning / Refrigerant tasks) and ancillary SSE (Surface Support Equipment)
* Carry out corrective maintenance on defective flight hardware when required in accordance with NSI approved documentation.
* Carry out equipment modifications in accordance with approved modification packages.
* Provide Operational Support during active states on SWS (Strategic Weapons System) related activities.
* Support Training activities.
* Carry out Building User checks.
* Carry out LOLER Examinations of Lifting Equipment.
* Input maintenance information into the database
* Perform RBMTV maintenance and A Frame Hoist Testing as required.
* Attend required facility training and Weapon System training as assigned.
The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (DV) of security clearance. More details can be found here
* An Apprenticeship, ONC, HNC or higher level qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline
* Hands on experience in a Mechanical or Electrical role such as Technician, Engineer, Inspector or similar role
* Understanding the requirement to adhere to applicable documentation within a highly prescriptive environment
* Promotion of a positive culture towards Health and Safety
* Pro-active approach to providing solutions to emergent challenges.
* Able to take ownership of tasks as delegated.
* Be a confident team player whilst being able to communicate at all levels.
* Ability to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
* Pro-active approach, questioning attitude
