Senior Stress Engineer
Stress analysis, FEA, structures, materials science, and mechanical engineering skills required. Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 + excellent benefits. Hybrid working available in Kidderminster.
A leading Aerospace & Defence organisation seeks a Stress Engineer to join their Design team. The design department designs new and modified rocket motors and related systems, including ballistic performance prediction and modelling, propellant charge and hardware stress analysis, and documentation services.
Key responsibilities:
* Analysis of rocket motor systems using FEA software, including structural and thermal analysis.
* Use of software and programming techniques, including Abaqus, Altair-Hyperworks, Fortran, and Matlab.
* Rheological analysis of material testing results and provision of advice for FEA model validation.
* Development of motor structural test plans and involvement in structural testing results.
* Structural performance technical authority for assigned projects, including project meetings, investigations, and customer support.
* Delivery of project documentation, including structural analysis, test plans, and design records.
Requirements:
* Engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or Material Science, or related discipline.
* Material science knowledge and ABAQUS software experience.
* CAD modelling experience.
