An opportunity has arisen for a Homecare Assistant to join our Procurement and Homecare team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient person, who is initiative-taking and patient-focused.
The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of homecare services. This includes prescription and invoice processing, managing patient and clinician queries, training staff, whilst supporting the delivery of service-related performance indicators.
The post holder will be supporting the Homecare Technician with complaints and incidents, coordinating service reviews, implementation of new homecare services, change management of existing services, and audits.
They will ensure adherence and compliance to national homecare standards and the timely supply of medicines in accordance with NHS medicine procurement contracts.
The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be working in a busy team and will be communicating with a variety of professionals across the Trust. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for raising pharmacy homecare orders and processing homecare prescriptions to Homecare Providers in a timely manner.
2. Responsible for the processing of invoices and credits, ensuring that price discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
3. Liaising with clinical teams with respect to prescription queries and processing urgent requests.
4. Ensuring prescription checklists and receipts are reconciled in a timely manner.
5. To monitor outstanding orders and contacting homecare providers, patients, or clinical teams to ensure orders and deliveries are processed and delays are appropriate and documented.
6. Ensuring and maintaining patient consents on JAC homecare module frameworks and amending records as is appropriate.
7. Reporting complaints and incidents and following up where appropriate.
8. To answer patient queries and liaise directly with patients with regards to homecare related queries and supply concerns.
9. Reviewing KPIs with Homecare Technician to ensure consistency of service.
10. To ensure patient records (e.g. filling, scanning, email correspondence) are kept up to date and relevant.
11. To participate in audit and service improvement projects with support from Homecare Technician and Pharmacist.
12. Any other duties as required by the Chief Pharmacist or his/her deputy.
