Job overview
A vacancy has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work in the Medical Equipment Libraries at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The libraries house a variety of medical devices that are loaned out around the trust for clinical use.
The post is based at the Northern General Hospital but the successful applicant will be required to work on all the sites when required. A cross-city rota is in operation.
The post holders will be responding to requests from clinical staff for the loaning of medical devices and their collection from around the Trust.
Main duties of the job
This post will require the successful candidate to have a methodical approach with attention to detail which is vital to ensure the safe delivery of the Medical Equipment Library service.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a practical, logical aptitude with good communication skills and be able to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Person specification
Qualifications
* English and Maths grade C / level 4 or above or equivalent experience/qualifications
* NVQ level 2 or equivalent Manual Handling Training
* Full Driving Licence
Experience
* Experience of working in a stores or portering environment
* Some experience of medical equipment and working within hospitals on wards etc
* Some experience of using Patient Management Systems within the NHS.
